There has been a rise in popular political movements over the past few years.  One hasn’t been able to avoid news items on the Tea Party and Occupy Wall Street if they peruse any type of media–electronic or print.  For a variety of reasons, groups of Americans have banded together to address what they see as problems in the United States.  These two movements have differing opinions on the causes of these problems.  It’s been said the Tea Party had success in influencing the 2010 mid-term elections.  Whether either of these, or some other organization will have an effect on this year’s presidential election remains to be seen.  For more in depth information, the library has current books on the subject.
